Estate and whole-house cleanouts

Clearing a parent's home, or a whole house before a sale, is heavy work at a hard time. We set aside what the family wants, donate what we can, and haul the rest, with one price for the whole job.

An estate cleanout is different from a garage job. There's usually a timeline attached to it, a house that has to be empty by a closing date or a lease end, and a family that's still deciding what to keep. We've done enough of them to know the order that works: the family takes what matters first, we set aside anything found along the way, and then we clear the house room by room until it's broom-clean.

We work with families, executors, attorneys, and real estate agents across Southern New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts. A relative, neighbor, or agent can let us in and sign off if you're out of state. Big houses often take more than one truckload, and we quote the whole job up front, not load by load, so there are no surprises on the second day.

Furniture in good shape, working appliances, housewares, and books go to donation whenever we can place them. Metal goes to a recycler. What's left is disposed of properly. We'll tell you honestly what's donatable and what isn't.

How it goes

Four steps, no surprises.

1

Family first

Take what you want to keep. If there's an executor or attorney involved, check with them before anything of value leaves the house.

2

Free walkthrough

We walk the house with you or your agent, agree on what's going, and give you one price for the whole job. Photos work too if you're far away.

3

Room by room

We clear the house in a sensible order, set aside anything personal we come across, and load the truck as we go. Big homes take more than one load.

4

Broom-clean handoff

We sweep each room and text you photos when the house is empty. Usable items go to donation, metal to recycling, and the rest to disposal.

Pricing

What changes the price.

You pay for the space your items take up in the truck. Labor, loading, hauling, and disposal are in the one number we quote before we start. Three things move it:

  1. The size of the house and how full it is, measured in truckloads
  2. Stairs, long carries, and tight access
  3. Heavy items like appliances and exercise equipment

I called them right before our home goes on the market. They are very flexible, friendly and well worth the price. I'll be calling them again.

Matt was great to work with. He was accommodating, responsive, punctual, professional, and even fit us in for a last-minute job before a long holiday weekend.

Questions

Straight answers.

How long does an estate cleanout take?

The sorting usually takes the family longer than the hauling takes us. Once you've taken what you want, the removal itself is often a single day, with bigger homes taking two loads or two visits. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we see the house.

Do you donate items from estate cleanouts?

Yes. We sort what we collect and donate, recycle, and properly dispose of items whenever possible. Furniture in good condition, working appliances, housewares, and books are the easiest to place. We'll be honest about what's donatable and what isn't.

Can you do the cleanout if I live out of state?

Yes. A relative, neighbor, attorney, or real estate agent can let us in and sign off. We can quote from photos or a video walkthrough, and we text you photos of each room when it's empty.

What if we find paperwork or photos during the cleanout?

We set them aside. Documents, photographs, jewelry, cash, and anything that looks personal goes in a box for the family rather than on the truck. Finding things like that is normal in an estate cleanout.

What can't you take from an estate?

Hazardous materials: paint, solvents, chemicals, pesticides, asbestos, propane, fuel, and medical waste. Those need a town hazardous-waste collection or a licensed hauler. Everything else that's non-hazardous and that two people can carry, we take.
